Eight-year-old Michael Jackson stood in front of the audience gathered at Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana, in 1966. “The Jacksons” Michael and his brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon were competing in a citywide talent show at the school. Young Michael looked adorable with his easy smile and big, bright eyes. Sharing vocals with his brother Jermaine, Michael crooned “My Girl,” a song made famous by the Temptations. When the Jacksons finished their song, the audience gave them a standing ovation. The judges at the show gave them first prize. After the show, the excited boys took turns holding the big trophy they had won. All the Jackson boys were talented, but Michael stood out onstage.
